The sources for water damage are endless. One of the ones I like to hear the least about is when something leaks from a second floor (or higher) onto the offices and computer equipment below. It’s frustrating to chase a leak.
About 30 years ago I was working with our local mental health facility applying some safety non-skid systems to kitchen areas, a truck bed and some other small repairs when Bruce, the maintenance manager asked me if we could apply this stuff in the shower stall. I shrugged my shoulders and said “why not”? We then went and measured a couple of these shower stalls, I went back to the office and figured up the material needed and grabbed some gear.
Bruce and I cleaned the tile flooring using a product called Klenztone. We then rinsed that down, did some mechanical surface prep with a grinder and applied
Belzona 3121 (MR-7) including about 6 inches up the walls. We dropped in some fine aggregate for non-slip and allowed it to dry. We went back later and added another coat of Belzona, allowed it to dry and put the shower back in service the next day. That repair lasted until they tore the building down five or six years ago.
There are half a dozen Belzona products to choose from for this application and we’ll be happy to come and teach your maintenance team how to do this. I have attached a before/after shot so you can see how these look when we’re finished.
Belzona has a lot of experience in sealing shower pans once and for all. We’ve been knocking these out for a long time. These are in our dormitories, prisons, gym’s, recreation centers and hospitals.
Tell us, how can we help you repair, protect and improve your facilities assets?
